For many years
多年來(lái)
I was treated in a very unkind way.
我并沒(méi)有遭受過(guò)惡意的對(duì)待
I was not only talked about behind my back
沒(méi)有人在我的背后誹謗我
but I was spoken to in an unkind manner to my face.
當(dāng)曾經(jīng)有人當(dāng)面對(duì)我用十分失禮的態(tài)度說(shuō)話
I'm sure
我相信
a lot of people can relate to this.
許多人有過(guò)類似的經(jīng)歷
There came a time
后來(lái)
when I had the opportunity to help this person out.
我得到一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)，可以對(duì)那個(gè)人提供幫助
For some reason,
出于某種原因
much to my surprise,
連我自己都感到驚訝的是
I chose to be kind and help.

My action to show love and help not only surprised me,

but it surprised others as well.

I'm sharing this

because I can not tell you

how much my action set me free.

I now had the power

to treat this person the same way I had been treated

or I could be kind

and put love into action.

The choice was mine.

Love your enemies

and bless them that curse you.

I never really understood this maxim
我從沒(méi)有真正理解這句箴言
until I put it into practice.

Being kind and showing love did as much for me
行善舉，傳達(dá)大愛(ài)，這對(duì)我的益處
as it did for the other person.

This is a good time

to not only show love to those who love us
不僅對(duì)愛(ài)我們的人表達(dá)愛(ài)意
but to be kind to those who have done us wrong.
